5052 and 5005 aluminum sheet can both be used in vehicle panels, enclosures and refrigerated-body components, but they are not selected for the same reason. 5052 is normally considered when forming strength and fatigue performance matter; 5005 is often chosen where appearance, moderate strength and anodizing response are priorities.

Panel Design Controls the Result
Thickness and support spacing
A thinner sheet may reduce mass but increase oil-canning, denting and vibration. Specify finished-panel stiffness, frame spacing and fastening method instead of assuming one thickness fits every body design.
Bending, joining and surface finish
Temper influences bend radius and springback. Welding can soften cold-worked heat-affected zones, while riveting and adhesive bonding introduce their own edge-distance and surface-preparation requirements. If panels will be anodized or painted, define the appearance class, color tolerance and viewing condition.
